When it comes to health and fitness, backyard steam saunas are one of the best-kept secrets around. Not only do they provide a host of health benefits, but they also offer a level of comfort and luxury that is hard to beat. If you’re looking for a way to improve your health and add some extra comfort to your pool area, then adding a steam sauna may be the perfect solution. In this article, we will discuss the many benefits of adding a steam sauna to your pool area and talk about some of the different options available.

There are many benefits to swimming for your health. Swimming is a great cardio workout, it’s low-impact so it’s easy on your joints, and it’s a great way to stay cool in the summer heat. But did you know that taking a sauna after swimming can enhance those health benefits?

When you swim, your body temperature rises and your heart rate increases. This all happens because water conducts heat away from your body faster than air does. That’s why when you get out of the pool, you feel cooler than when you first got in. Having a relaxing sauna after swimming takes advantage of this effect and can help your body recover from strenuous exercise more quickly.

One of the main benefits of a steam sauna is that it can help you detoxify your body. When you sweat, your body releases toxins and impurities that can be harmful to your health. However, when you sweat in a steam sauna, these toxins and impurities are quickly removed from your body through the pores in your skin. This helps to cleanse and detoxify your body, leaving you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Another great benefit of a steam sauna is that it can help improve circulation. The heat from the steam dilates blood vessels and increases blood flow throughout the body. This increased circulation can help to reduce pain and inflammation, as well as improve overall cardiovascular health. In addition, the increased blood flow can also help to reduce cellulite and give your skin a healthy glow.

If you are looking for a way to relax and unwind, then a steam sauna is also a great option to reduce stress and anxiety. The heat from the steam helps to loosen tight muscles and relieve tension headaches. The humid air can also help to clear congestion and ease respiratory problems. In addition, the calming atmosphere of a steam sauna has been shown to help reduce stress and promote relaxation.

There are many different types of steam saunas on the market today, so make sure to find one that fits your lifestyle as well as your needs and budget. If you’re thinking about adding a sauna for the health benefits, you may be wondering if an outdoor sauna makes more sense than an indoor one.

One of the main advantages of a backyard steam sauna is that it’s typically easier to install than an indoor model. This means you can enjoy your new sauna much sooner. And, since most outdoor saunas are made from high-quality materials, they’re built to last.

The installation of a sauna outside may be a smart idea, but there are a number of things to think about first:

In addition to the sauna’s purchase price, you almost certainly will need to run electrical and water lines from your home to the sauna location. Even though it’s a short distance, you still have to consider hiring several experts and possibly even installing a concrete pad for your spa to sit on.

Weatherproofing your new sauna will increase the cost if you reside in a region that experiences exceptionally cold winters or excessively hot summers. There are numerous options available for insulating your sauna from the elements.

Your personal sauna may sound like the perfect place to unwind, but how private will it really be? Consider the noise from your surroundings, including your neighbors, bystanders, and even the nearby road. Privacy fencing is a must for those who will be concerned about prying eyes.

You can require permission to build any form of outbuilding, even on your own land, depending on where you live. To maintain the cohesive look of all the homes in the community, HOAs may have particular laws prohibiting such installations.

Most residential communities don’t require building permits for structures 120 square feet or smaller. For your unique needs, you’ll need to speak with a building contractor or get in touch with your local permitting office. Find out whether you’ll need permits for any necessary plumbing or electrical work while you’re speaking with them.

One of the best barrel saunas available is the Thermory No. 61 Barrel Sauna. This premium barrel sauna kit is ideal for relaxing with guests. It seats 4 people and even comes with a front porch. The innovative design means that with a 7’3″ inside diameter, it’s tall enough to comfortably stand in; making it a popular option with those looking for a larger outdoor steam room.

Adding on a 9kw electric sauna heater provides plenty of heat for your outdoor sauna room. The HUUM DROP 9 heater which is compact and designed for sauna rooms up to 530 cubic feet, is the perfect add-on for the Thermory No. 61 Barrel Sauna. An add-on digital controller means that you can easily adjust the heat inside the sauna without going outside. Convenient WiFi temperature controls allow you to adjust the temperature from an Android or iOS device.

For those looking for a more contemporary backyard steam sauna design, the Auroom Cala Glass Cabin Sauna Kit certainly will not disappoint. The 3-person Glass DIY Sauna Cabin Kit is easy to use and economical to operate. Perhaps the single most thing you’ll enjoy about the Cala’s compact indoor sauna design is the exquisite attention to detail, featuring a sophisticated glass front wall and door.

Ultimately whether you are thinking of a DIY Sauna Kit or a Modular Sauna Room, the Auroom Cala and the Thermory Barrel Sauna are priced competitively to start at around the $8,000 range making them one of the more affordable outdoor amenities to add to your backyard.

Ultimately, adding a sauna to your home is an investment in your health. If you’re looking for backyard amenities that add value and a way to improve your health and well-being, adding a sauna is a great option. The initial investment may seem like a lot, but the ROI is worth it when you consider the health benefits you’ll enjoy.

There’s no doubt that saunas have a plethora of health benefits, from improved circulation to better skin. But did you know that adding a sauna can also add value to your home?

That’s right – not only will you be able to enjoy all the benefits of regular sauna use, but your home will also be worth more if you ever decide to sell. So if you’re on the fence about whether or not a backyard steam sauna is worth the investment, consider all the ways it can pay off in the long run.

Other than the obvious reason of wanting a place to lay down and enjoy effortless relaxation in the pool, floats also make good training tools. If you have small children who aren’t strong experienced swimmers, having a few floaties around is a smart idea. Aside from providing a fun area to lounge, floats are excellent training devices to acclimatize swimmers until they become more experienced. Swimmers of all ability levels may find a pool float useful.

This pool float is used to aid in advanced swim training and swim exercises. Made of sturdy, durable, and unbreakable material. Includes two sets of integrated handles for optional swimming positioning.

Popular brands of pool floats being sold today include features like cup holders and headrests. Floats that self-inflate and have handles are also great features to look for. Fast inflating valves are another important feature you may want. If you plan on transporting a large float, you’ll want to purchase one that has handles on it.

Premium floats and rafts are best purchased at the beginning of the swim season as inventory will be tougher to find at the height of the summer. Consequently, when purchasing a pool float you should be looking at safety valves, multiple air chambers, and a low center of gravity. These are all important things to look for when purchasing a pool float. Many popular brands of floats come with a sun canopy to provide an additional layer of protection from the harmful UV rays of the sun.

This canopy-covered floating island is perfect for socializing with friends in the pool. The convenient sunshade provides relief from harmful UV rays and helps prevent nasty sunburns while floating.

On hot summer days, let your pup cool off in style! This blue paw-shaped float brings the fun up a notch. Durable, high quality, and made to hold up to 220 pounds, this pool float for pets is at the top of our list in this category for a good reason.

The one thing to know about floats is that they can take up an awful lot of space. Properly storing them in the off-season is important. Ensure your floats are well maintained and ready for another fun summer of usage by purchasing float storage. This will protect them from inclement weather in the winter months and keep them in ready-to-use condition.

What we love about this product is its easy access. Mesh pockets around the pool organizer make it easy to retrieve small pool toys, balls, and pool safety equipment. Wheels on the bottom make it easy to roll out when it’s time to swim and out of sight when playtime in the pool is over.

Sometimes you want to keep your floats out of sight altogether. This high-quality, 150-gallon large-size deck box is not only visually appealing but makes outdoor storage of your pool floats and other accessories a snap.

Choosing a pool float is the hard part, finding accessories to go with your float to make it easy to transport and inflate is the easy part. Nobody likes blowing up a huge float but everyone enjoys laying on them. Purchasing a pump and a bag to store your floats is always a smart idea. While many floats come with a cup holder or hidden compartment for snacks, you may also want to consider purchasing a separate float for food and beverages. They make a convenient serving table and are a great float accessory. You may also want to purchase a small floating Bluetooth speaker so you can enjoy your tunes in the pool without worrying about ruining your smartphone.

This is a question many folks ask when purchasing a pool float. Many consumers notice that cheaper pool floats tend to not even make it through a full season before they begin to deflate.

When searching for the best pool floats, know that no matter what type you chose to purchase – you’ll probably see an average of 1 to 3 years of usage before you’re buying a replacement. The weight of people lounging on them season after season coupled with how they are stored will play a factor in how long they last. Obviously, heavy-duty floats will typically last a bit longer than cheaper ones and are recommended for full-sized adults.

Choosing the best pool float boils down to preference. If you’re the type of person that doesn’t relish the thought of huffing and puffing to inflate 100 pool floats for children and guests, an air compressor or portable float pump may be a smart accessory to purchase. Likewise, foam floats and pool noodles are always great standbys as well.

The Big Joe Captain’s Float is quite possibly one of the most comfortable pool floats on ou list. Filled with lightweight, buoyant Megha Beans and is available in a variety of brightly colored patterns. A cleverly hidden little flap on the side functions perfectly as a cup holder.

Intex really hit the mark with this float. Get ready for the ultimate relaxing experience with the Intex Rockin’ Lounge. Unique contoured design provides extra comfort as you float in the pool. A built-in cup holder lets you keep your refreshment nearby as you float and relax.

Vying for top placement on the list of most comfortable pool floats to lay on is the Laze Pillow by Ledge Lounger. This is honestly the Cadillac of pool floats and feels like laying on a pillow of air. It’s no wonder the Laze Pillow is our Editor’s Pick for Best Pool Float. This premium luxury pool float is about as far as you can get from your average pool toy. When bean bag meets pool float, you’re definitely in for a treat. Skip the hassle of inflating and relax anywhere your pillow fits. Just unbox the cushion and lay.

There is no denying that there are certainly thousands if not millions of different pool float options to choose from. Pool floats are an enormously popular accessory homeowners buy for their swimming pools. The market for swimming floats was $1.85 Billion USD in 2019 and has steadily grown over the past few years.

Some of the biggest pool manufacturers in that space include:

Memorial Day will be the first big backyard get-together of the season for many folks around the nation. We hope that we’ve given you some great ideas on how to plan a terrific pool party and decorate your backyard for Memorial Day or the 4th of July with these fun patriotic pool decor ideas.

When looking at the most elegantly appointed backyards, sound and video definitely create a premium poolside experience. Given the fact that Americans spend 87% of their time indoors, it makes sense that in order to feel a certain level of comfort we want to bring elements from inside the home into the backyard.

A/V plays a huge role in outdoor living environment. It certainly explains why the digital home entertainment industry represents a $30 billion dollar industry in the U.S. alone. That’s roughly 12 times what we spent only a decade ago.

Consequently, two things are for certain; for one the market for home audio & video has grown. Secondly, a good portion of that growth has been in the outdoor living sector.

As we have grown our appetite for all things digital, our capacity for being without certain creature comforts has diminished over the last decade.

In our parent’s era, we were content with bringing a transistor radio into the backyard to catch the ballgame poolside. These days, you’re likely to find a fully equipped outdoor pavilion with a complete entertainment area in high-end custom backyards.

To get a better understanding of what a vital role entertainment plays in the backyard, we spoke with Keith Perry. Perry is one of the leading installers of outdoor audio & video in Houston, TX. His firm, Peridon Entertainment, has been servicing his local market for many years. Today, Perry consults with pool builders and general contractors all over the state of Texas. His day to day is spent collaborating on the planning, design, and installation of home audio in an outdoor setting. We asked Perry how he works with builders to devise solutions areas that add entertainment value to the backyard.

“When pool builders and contractors have a plan in mind for how they want to incorporate A/V into the pool and patio area,” said Perry, “in those cases, we are happy to provide them with an entire design schematic. We can even make a CAD plan for audio and video systems with a flowchart showing integration with other systems.”

“We also collaborate with those without a clear vision on how A/V will best be utilized,” said Perry. “If the builder or designer really is leaning on us for a plan that truly incorporates entertainment zones in the backyard that’s where we deliver the most value,” said Perry, “it’s why I get such fulfillment out of what we do. We come in the backyard and quite often there is zero entertainment planned. It’s like seeing a movie before it’s scored without the soundtrack. There’s a disconnect without those elements there. Adding an entertainment center gives the outdoor living environment an entirely new dimension that makes it feel complete.”

We asked about some of the high-end components homeowners are looking to install in the backyard in terms of adding a full-on entertainment center in their backyard. Ultimately, we wanted to know what’s hot and trending right now for A/V in outdoor living.

“One of the biggest requests we get is for the complete buildout of entertainment pavilions,” said Perry. “Folks really find great value when they’re able to enjoy those same indoor amenities outdoors.”

“In years past, it’s been all about increasing the quality of components to really create an immersive outdoor entertainment experience and the industry has come a long way” explained Perry, “Many of the major drawbacks that came with building sophisticated outdoor audio and video systems for outdoor applications are a thing of the past. The technology just gets better and better with each passing year.”

“There are certain brands that perform better poolside than others. Manufacturers like Bose, Klipsch, MartinLogan, and Sonos have also really upped their game in terms of providing a wide spectrum of high-quality systems and controllers that work perfectly in the backyard.”

Klipsch Indoor/Outdoor Speaker – Granite

These speakers blend seamlessly into your outdoor living area and provide superb quality sound around the entire backyard.

“Sonance is a favorite with homeowners and manufactures a line of speakers specifically designed for outdoor settings. More to the point, they make great products for outdoor audio.” said Perry. “We’re talking about a versatile speaker system designed to deliver high range performance. From background listening levels to party levels. Homeowners enjoy the ability to easily adjust their sound system. It’s nice to be able to provide background music or be the entire focus of the party.”

As far as adding video components to the backyard, consumers, these days have their choice of high-end products. However, when it comes to watching TV poolside, Perry says that there are TVs better suited for the outdoors.

“Honestly, when it comes to which TV to put in your backyard, what consumers really need to be looking at is weatherized TVs that can withstand being outdoors indefinitely,” said Perry, “Anything that’s going to be in the pool area, you’re talking about water-resistant TVs that can handle getting wet. Most in that category will be fine with some heavy rain, but submerging them will cause irreparable damage.”

“Lighting is another big issue that comes up with watching TVs poolside. Direct sunlight can be hard on TV screens and a bright sunny day can make it almost impossible to see anything,” said Perry. “Full sun, full shade and partial-shade TVs are all made to the ideal environment specified, but there is one constant and that is hanging a TV in direct sun will result in difficult viewing.”

Whether you are thinking of installing a home audio system in your backyard or upgrading your existing one, it’s always advisable to consult with a professional, said Perry. “It makes sense that if homeowners are investing that type of money into renovating their backyard that they want their entire experience to be first class. Bringing in an A/V consultant that can help achieve those goals is definitely a step in the right direction.”
