Film producer Joel Silver has slashed the price of his Los Angeles mansion, but he’s having a hard time deciding on the final figure.
As of Wednesday, the home—a 25,000-square-foot, hot-pink residence in the gated Brentwood Circle area of the city—was listed for $52 million, according to listing websites. That’s a $3 million increase from Tuesday’s price of $49 million, records show. Either way, it’s a far cry from its original asking price of $77.5 million in October 2019, or the subsequent relisting of the property in November 2021 for $75 million.
The hacienda-style residence was custom designed for Mr. Silver by the late Mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta, according to the listing with Branden and Rayni Williams of Williams & Williams at The Beverly Hills Estates and Jade Mills at Coldwell Banker. They were not immediately available for comment.
Mr. Silver—the 70-year-old producer credited with changing action films with franchises such as “Die Hard,” “The Matrix” and “Lethal Weapon”—bought the underlying property in 1988 for $3.3 million, according to records with PropertyShark. Representatives for Mr. Silver did not immediately return requests for comment.
The home sits on more than 4 acres of landscaped grounds, the home opens to an atrium with limestone floors imported from the Yucatán and a retractable skylight, according to the listing. There’s also a dining room with a pyramid-shaped ceiling, a library, a screening room that seats about 20 people, an office, a game room and gym with a sauna.
The eight-bedroom abode also includes two primary suites with dens, walk-in closets and marble bathrooms.
Outdoor amenities include a reflection pool with travertine columns, manicured grounds, a pool and spa, a basketball court and an outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven, the listing said.
